how I work
Imagination is more than just dreaming up a nice image. As a senior stylist and art director I capture the authenticity of your brand or services. I can turn your product or business into stunning images.
The four pillars of my approach: composition, creativity, colour and collaboration.
Composition is the basis of a strong picture or a well-composed interior. It’s not the objects in the picture that matter most, but the way you position them. My spatial awareness and years of experience make it easy for me to make the most exciting composition in which your product is the focal point of the picture, or makes all the furniture in the room fall into place.
Creativity is the gift I started out with. Well nurtured, it grew into a talent. Finding solutions to your questions, choosing an unexpected angle and coming up with surprising ideas are my favourite pastime.
Colour is the cherry on the cake. The right colours evoke emotion in your picture or interior. They can calm it down or spice it up, bring back memories or take us to a different world.
Collaboration is essential to get the best results. Respecting one another’s talent and working as a team gets the most out of every production. I’m a senior photo stylist/art director who loves to work together with other art directors, photographers and clients. Depending on the situation I can either take the lead or be guided.
Whether it’s a still life production in the studio or on location, interior or colour advice, a food shoot, styling hotels for photography or planting advice for your garden, you can always depend on my four C’s: composition, creativity, colour and collaboration. Have a look at my references so I don’t have to blow my own trumpet anymore!

• Thomas van Schaik (photographer)
I love working with Eddy, he is besides a very good stylist maybe an even better art director which is a great asset on my set. Together we have created many beautiful images, where I give him an idea and he fills in the blanks and comes up with the styling and look and feel of the images. A very allround, creative and hands on person. And a nice guy!
• Janet Griffin (manager café de jaren)
Eddy is utterly inspiring and has the ability to draw you out of your comfort zone and explore new ideas. He has an exquisite taste in colour and textures and an amazing eye on how to utilize a space. I have never been dissapointed in any project he has advised me on.
For de jaren Eddy advised us to use a combination of Farrow & Ball colors Nancy’s Blushes and Calamine for the office. Under a certain amount of scepticism from the directors the project was realized. It works brilliantly. The staff find it welcoming and the hundred year old room feels modern yet still steeped in history. I always think it is a shame the customers cannot experience it.
When Eddy says: “Trust me, it will work”, trust him as it will always work!
• Floor Frings (owner mato architecten)
Unprecedented good sense of color and an eye for detail and atmosphere. Already collaborated with Eddy on several projects and the collaboration was always sharp, professional, but also warm and with humor. Eddy knows how to find the right tone between contemporary, new ideas without falling into time-sensitive trends. I look forward to the next cooperation with Eddy.
• Saskia van Osnabrugge (photographer)
Eddy always knows how to keep the atmosphere on set relaxed with his humor. And like no other he knows how to create a modern styling with a hint of irony.
• Marnix van Wijk (partner)
Apart from the fact that Eddy has a flawless eye for color, composition, style, he is also a fantastic man to be with. He has a great sense of humor, is a good cook, always makes the house cosy and is a gifted gardener! I trust his taste blindly, and I am very satisfied with the photos of my collection of white porcelain that he made with Thomas van Schaik for fragile.nu.
